When we heard we were going to be opening up for The Who at this event, naturally we were pretty excited. Then we found out we were actually opening up for the animated children's movie "Horton Hears A Who"...Well, rock on all you little dudes at the Parma Fest!! Seriously, we celebrated the bi-centennial of Parma (wow, 200 years...even older than Gary's amp) in high style at "Park-It-In-Parma," playing before a great audience camping, eating, drinking and (dare we use the pun again) "parking it" with their friends and families. As the sun went down, a cotton candy pink sky settled over the wide open spaces of Parma, creating an idyllic setting for blues music, steamed clams and fried dill pickles. One of the many high notes (another pun, sorry) was the unveiling of our first original song, composed by Phil, called "Singing the Blues." If you didn't get a chance to hear it, don't worry as there's no doubt it will be in our set list for a long time, we enjoyed playing it so much. Thanks Steve Fowler of Hilton-Parma Recreation for hiring us and Town Supervisor Richard Lemcke for organizing this terrific event, which also included unbelievable fireworks on Saturday night. I think we still have most of our eyebrows. And thanks Dad McKain for loaning us your RV for the weekend, we'll get it cleaned out soon!
