"It's comin' on Christmas, they're cuttin' down trees, they're puttin' up reindeer and singin' songs of joy and peace. Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on..."

Making music at Abilene felt so easy on this cold and clear December night. There is just something warm and familiar about this place and it makes it easy to feel things, get to the heart of things. We played cozied up next to the jukebox (Chuck had to hold back a little on some of his dance moves) and tucked in an alcove near the bar, where it was so great making a connection with a very lovely, fun, listening crowd. Thanks Danny Deutsch for having us here. We had so much fun rocking with all you smiling people, we threw in some Joplin and Joni Mitchell (Phil played a beautiful rendition of "River" on the keys), mixed things up with some smokin' Santana by Doug. Thank you to so many people who came over to say hello, including old friends from high school (great to see you Jim), neighbors and lots of people who were just seeing us for the first time. You make us feel so good, like we're just where we belong, in this place, in this time, living this wonderful life. Merry Christmas to all of you.
